Traditional East Asian medicine offers many gentle and effective solutions for common childhood disorders from infancy to the teen age years. Depending on the child’s unique presentation I draw on techniques ranging from Shonishin (see below), acupuncture, cupping, moxabustion to time-tested herbal formulas to dietary and lifestyle counseling.

Shonishin is a gentle technique developed hundreds of years ago  in Japan, in which the skin is not pierced, only gently stroked and tapped with special shonishin instruments.  Most kids really enjoy the treatments and find them quite pleasant and interesting.

Common Conditions Treated include:

  • Digestive Disorders
  • Allergies and autoimmune disorders such as sinusitis, asthma, eczema,
  • Teething
  • Difficulty Sleeping
  • Sensory Integration Issues
  • ADD/ADHD
  • Stress
